If only honey, a few changes.. Poem of love lost

        If only he'd make just a few changes of choice.
        We had almost found true love at first sight.
        Forget about being too bossy, telling lies even if white.
        Promises not kept, uncompromising, things that hurt to the core.
        He said he had caught a mermaid, me, and I want more.
       We found each other hot, loving each other's touch.
       Yet due to his actions, it seems as if all we had wasn't that much.
       If only things were different - and if so, then, it's not a dead end.
       To wish, if only he'd call, so we can be more than just friends.
       If only he would try to please, like I pleased him in all these rest.
       He's essentially a really nice man, loving as well, and rates a ten.
       But I desire a 10 in all matters to have the man I want to be right.
       When he holds me, his taking my breath away is awesome - the best.
       But what good is that when other areas are not as bright?
       I want to know he is totally caring and that is word is honorable yet,
       there are lots of things I love, his humor, how he makes me smile.
   He is a handsome, knowledgeable, fun, sexy and strong man.
       But one huge other strike I can't stand, is smoking Marlboro.
       A habit as he tries to break, becomes his biggest trial.
      If only he could overcome these, I'd be his biggest fan.
      For in my hero, my love, there needs a healthy and trusting tomorrow.
      Wanting to grow old as a wholesome couple, being husband and wife,
      With the man of my dreams - bring happiness to each other's long life.
      If only we could work it all out, but only going that extra mile.
